TWITT is an acronym standing for Today’s Women In Tomorrows’ Technology. This is not just about being a support network for women already working within the technology industry, but also providing mentors, support, and guidance for the young and up and coming women in today’s society who want to get into Technology.
As someone who has worked in the technology industry for over 10 years now; technology isn’t just about the bits of tin or hardware. It is also about the Project Managers, the Gamers, the Journalists, the Purchasers, the back-end Coders, and the day-to-day operational requirements that it takes to make technology work to name but a few.
I wanted to start putting back into the work, into the industry, into the schools so that we can believe we can be successful in the Technology industry and thrive. There are many public female figures out there who thrive in the technology field, and we will go on to look at some of them and their words of wisdom, I hope, over the coming months. For now, why not take a look at some of them yourself and see what you think makes them inspirational: Sheryl Sandberg; STEMettes; Google & Women; Microsoft & Women; Women to follow on Twitter; Top ten 10 women in technology; Women in the gaming industry; Top women in Gaming
For me empowering women to be successful is about giving them access to the resources, tools and knowledge to go out and achieve great things. However it is still up to the individual to go out and challenge, strive, and be ambitious enough to go out and get out what they want. Knowing what to do but going out and doing it is two different things. I can help with the first but the second is entirely up to you?
